Lamar Blvd. Site of Fatal Cyclist Crash

Emergency crews were called to the scene of an accident at the 3500 Block of S. Lamar Boulevard for a cyclist who was struck by a car.

The victim was riding his bicycle southbound on S. Lamar Blvd when a dark colored SUV, also traveling southbound, struck his bicycle. The cyclist, who was not identified by police reports, was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge where he was pronounced deceased early last month.

The SUV left the scene of the accident and is still being sought for questioning, reports say. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-8164. This case remains under investigation.
