Austin's Duval St. Claims Auto-Related Accident Fatality
Austin Police Officers responded to a call in the 4000 block Duval Street where a passenger of a Dodge Caravan traveling northbound in the 4000 block Duval Street had fallen from the vehicle.
The passenger, Joseph Daniel De La Cruz, 29, had been hanging outside the passenger side window when he fell out of the car and onto the roadway, hitting his head on the road in the process.
He was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge where he was pronounced deceased. Alcohol consumption appears to be a contributing factor to the accident.
