Austin Rollover Accident Ends in Death

Austin police responded to a rollover accident on Thornberry Rd. that was caused when a Chrysler 300 reportedly ran the red light at Thornberry, crashing into the passenger side of a Chevrolet, causing it to roll onto its side.

The occupants of the Chevrolet sustained very minor injuries. The driver and the passenger, Phillip Ontiveros, of the Chrysler were transported to University Medical Center-Brackenridge by Austin Travis County EMS with life threatening injuries. Ontiveros was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.

Speed or alcohol does not appear to be factors in this crash and it is unknown if seat belts were used. The accident is still under investigation.
